The 9th International Congress on Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is pleased to announce a number of travel grants are available for current trainees submitting accepted abstracts. Awards are available from:
1. Latin American Rheumatology Associations of the Pan-American League of Associations for Rheumatology (PANLAR) – Eligibility: Central and South America Fellows
2. American College of Rheumatology (ACR) – Eligibility: USA Fellows
3. Canadian Rheumatology Association (CRA) – Eligibility: Canadian Fellows
4. Lupus Research Institute (LRI) - "Cutting Edge of Lupus Research" Travel Grant* - Eligibility: Presenters of abstracts selected for this session will receive a travel grant.
5. Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR)** – Eligibility: APLAR Member Countries
Awards are $1,000.00 each.
* Applicants for a Travel Award in this category may also apply for PANLAR, US, Canadian or APLAR awards, if eligible.
** APLAR awards are $500.00 each.
To qualify for the Trainee Travel Awards applicants must present proof of full time enrolment in a specialty-training program in the current academic year at the time of registration. A letter from your department administration office or Divisional Head must accompany registration.
APLAR Specific Criteria
1. Applicants are from APLAR member countries who are fully paid up to 2009
2. Applicant will present an abstract at the conference
3. Applicant is under the age of 40
4. Applicant is a trainee as certified by his/her Head of Department
5. The award will be paid out after the Conference, after the applicant provides the Certificate of Attendance together with a 1 page brief report on the conference.
